The purpose of this session is to provide participants an overview of the final revenue recognition standard (ASC 606) and potential areas to consider from a Cooperative perspective. This topic will cover key concepts related to the standard along with highlighting some common changes resulting from differences contained in ASC 606 as compared to the legacy guidance. Best practices will be discussed regarding how to conduct the implementation process including documenting key judgments under this principles based standard. Other significant areas to discuss include transition guidance, disclosures, and the importance of systems and internal controls to comply with the new standard on a prospective basis. A panel of experts will provide an overview of the tax implications resulting from changes to revenue recognition under ASC 606 along with insights regarding changes to tax procedures. Considerations specific to Cooperatives will be discussed throughout this presentation.
