Read Coverage of the Business First of Buffalo Executive Forum on Cyber Security featuring Bill Prohn

On Thursday, October 3rd, William Prohn, Dopkins System Consultants Managing Director, served as a panelist at the Business First of Buffalo annual Executive Forum on Cyber Security.

Executive Forum: Cyber Security

Updated

What organizations should be concerned about cyber security? Only those that use computers.

That was the message – or warning – from industry experts at Business First’s Executive Forum: Cyber Security held recently at Salvatore’s Italian Gardens.

But there are measures, the experts emphasized, which can and should be taken that will shift an organization from vulnerable to protected against hackers intent on getting at data and causing a catastrophe.

Industry experts on the forum panel were:

  • F. Paul Greene, chair of the privacy and data security practice group at law firm Harter Secrest & Emery LLP
  • Petter Lovaas, director of the M.S. program in information security and digital forensics at Niagara University and associate professor, computer information and sciences department
  • William Prohn, managing director and chief information and technology officer at the accounting firm Dopkins & Co. LLP.

Every organization – large or small, private business or government entity – faces the probability of a data breach, Prohn said. Complacency is not an option.
