Russell E. Barber
Working from Austin, Texas, Dopkins welcomed Russell to the Firm’s Asset Based Lending Team in 2019. He performs field examinations and delivers comprehensive analysis of accounts receivable and inventory and the evaluation of the financial performance of various organizations as an integral part of the asset based lending process.
Russell gained his original ABL experience while working in several audit positions in the Houston, Texas area. He began his career as an Audit Manager for Statesman Business Advisors, a premier investment banking and financial advisory firm serving middle-market clients. As Vice-President & Director of Audit for Marquette Commercial Finance, Inc. and related affiliate company KBK financial, Inc., he managed an external staff of auditors overseeing securitized commercial asset based lending and factoring portfolio aggregating $120 million.
Among his most recent assignments was executive-level service for Midwest Custom Case, Inc., a leader in the design, manufacturing and implementation of retail merchandising displays, fixtures and environments. In this role, he managed all corporate financial relationships including negotiations of working capital, real estate, asset-based lending and lease facilities. He prepared all internal financial information and budgeting for internal management review, and also supervised the organization’s accounting, inventory and IT personnel.
He also has experience as a Systems Conversion Consultant for the Southern Baptists of Texas Foundation, where he oversaw the conversion of the Foundation’s $80 million existing investment instrument and loan portfolio management function to a financial institution quality Fund Accounting environment.
