Jay joined Dopkins in 2003 and serves as a leader in the Firm’s Assurance Services Department.   His primary areas of practice include manufacturing and distribution, and he also has experience serving defense and construction contracting, retail and charitable/tax exempt organizations.  Jay entered the public accounting profession immediately upon graduating from St. Bonaventure University in 1980. Prior to joining Dopkins, Jay spent 23 years with a Big Four accounting firm where he served as lead partner for their Upstate New York (Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse) audit practice and was Buffalo office Managing Partner.

Jay has a particular specialization in the field of agricultural cooperatives, especially dairy and fruit product producers. In addition to serving as lead engagement partner on a number of large and mid-sized audit engagements, Jay is also active in the delivery of a variety of consulting services including risk assessments, internal audit assistance, internal controls, governance, mergers and acquisitions and, financing transactions, among others.
