The Nonprofit Revitalization Act of 2013 (the Act) was passed into law and became effective July 1, 2014. To enhance compliance with the Act, during 2015 the Charities Bureau of the Attorney General’s Office (the AG) issued guidance to help not-for-profit organizations comply with various aspects of the Act. The guidance is located at http://charitiesnys.com/nonprofit_rev_act_guidance.jsp.
In response to the AG guidance, the Not-for-Profit team at Dopkins & Company has created tools to help our clients document their compliance with the Act:
- The Nonprofit Revitalization Compliance Checklist has been designed to help the governing board ensure that the required policies and procedures are documented either by the governing board directly or by management of the organization.
- The External Auditors Annual Performance Scorecard was created to help governing boards evaluate the performance of its external auditors as required by the Act.
