Going for the Green

Making a difference.

The 2008 golf tournament is a wrap

Going for the Green took place at Brookfield Country Club on Monday, June 2, 2008. The morning flight was greeted with clear skies that continued for the rest of the day! The event raised over $100,000 for Aspire; bringing the 18-year cumulative total in excess of $1,100,000!

“The success of this tournament each year is based upon our long standing partnership with Dopkins and Company, the tireless dedication of the committee and the generous support of the corporate sponsors,” said Thomas A. Sy executive director of Aspire.

After a festively competitive day on the links, the golfers bid on abundant silent auction prizes and trips while unwinding with cocktails and a sit down dinner.

Many thanks to Dennis Williams who graciously emceed the evening’s events.

The winning team, The Buffalo News — last four years defending champions , came in with an impressive 59

2nd place, for the second year in a row Waterbourne, shot a 60

3rd place went to newcomer Sanderson & Company with a 62.

Although we are delighted that all participants enjoyed the outing, we must be reminded how important the tournament’s proceeds are to the people Aspire serves every single day. The funds raised assist the families and individuals who use Aspires programs. Comprehensive and customized services are brought to 2400 adults and children at home, in clinics, day services, schools, and residential facilities each day throughout Western New York.

To all who gave of their time, money, products or services, we thank you!
